I am a psychoanalyst and a licensed clinical social worker. I have a BA in psychology from Bowdoin College and an MSW from Smith College. I completed psychoanalytic training at the Northwestern Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. In addition to my extensive training, I have many years experience working with adults, children, and families in various mental health settings. In addition to clinical practice, I write and present my psychoanalytic work at professional conferences and events.
My therapeutic approach is psychoanalytic, which means I attend to your emotions, relationships, and the conscious and unconscious forces that shape how you feel and act. I work with patients to establish a sturdy and reliable relationship, characterized by careful and caring attention, and cooperation. Within such a relationship, painful and turbulent emotional experience can be faced and worked with in new ways.
